Introduction

I don’t know about you, but I often struggle to hear God’s voice over all the things that compete for my attention these days. His Word promises His sheep hear and know the sound of His voice. For me, it's not a booming voice but the quiet one that whispers through the things around me. For example, He might teach me thankfulness through a cozy flannel nightgown on a cold winter night, patience through a red light or a slow driver that won’t go the speed limit, and perseverance through plants . . .

Does he still speak? Absolutely, maybe the flaming bush is too dramatic these days—maybe not. I like to think that Moses had an attention span like mine . . .

Regardless, God speaks daily through the ordinary around me. I hope you’ll find something helpful to take away with you and the sweetness He’s taught me about His love and grace.
